A large and completely unused length of block printed linen featuring a vibrant Chinoiserie Tree of Life pattern. European, circa 1920’s. 247cm x 131.5 cm (97 x 51.5 inches).

With a repeat pattern of exotic birds and flowers in exceptionally strong and vibrant colours on a pale oatmeal linen, the panel resembles Harry Wearne’s Indian inspired Tree of Life designs for Lee Jofa in the 1920’s.

The panel has been cut down from a larger bolt and looks to have then been carefully folded away and stored for the last 100 years. The sides are selvaged/finished while the top and bottom edges are raw where the section was cut down.

Condition: We would class this as New Old Stock. Apart from three or four very small rust/age spots this is in as new condition, ready to be put to use as upholstery, a curtain, wall hanging or stretched over a canvas. See extra images here
