Wonderful Art Deco glass floor lamp after Jean Michel Frank.
Of very unusual construction, the central column is comprised of eleven solid glass rods which twist around a central gilt brass one. The base is chrome and glass, covering a faux burr walnut print.
Simple and extremely elegant, our first thought was of 30’s interiors legend Syrie Maugham, and designer Jean Michel Frank. While we can't definitively identify a designer, it is a very high quality, high end piece, and most likely bespoke.
The piece has been completely stripped, cleaned, rebuilt and rewired safely to modern UK standards. Condition overall is excellent. The chrome base has a small ding to the top surface and there are two small chips to the glass on the base (these are to the underside and mainly hidden by the lip of the chrome base, they are largely invisible.) The glass rods appear to be unmarked and in perfect condition.
