Unusually large and impressive pair of Art Deco Holophanes, being 38cm in diameter and around 44cm in height. This kind of size is more commonly found on the more industrial holophanes, these stunning pieces would look amazing with any interior style.
They were rescued from a 17th century coaching inn in Sheffield (The Royal Oak, Chapeltown), and date to around the 1930's.
In superb condition with no damage to the amazing, 6mm thick prismatic glass. The galleries, in spun brass, have some tiny paint dots which will not be noticeable in use. Newly rewired to UK standards for a standard bayonet bulb.
They were hung with only one chain link as they are very tall, (and originally hung in a low ceilinged pub!) but we have had them wired with 1.3 metre of cable in case anyone wants to hang them low. They come with the original brass ceiling roses so would just need a bit of lamp chain. (They would look amazing over a dining table!) With the rose and single link they currently suspend around 55cm.
